on the website.
6 am- Chuck wagon opens for breakfast
under the giant teepee.The tent
has tables and chairs for over
400 people at a time. At this
time you will be advised by
your Circle Boss if your group
needs to meet that morning before
riding out.
7 am- We'll be busy with our morning
personal routines, tack your horse,
breakdown camp, make sure your campsite
is clean and spotless,
fill your canteens, and water your horse one more time.
9 am- Ride out. Circles will be rotated
so everyone gets to ride with the
cattle if you want to. You will
be riding through private ranch lands
and State lands not open to
the public. From horizon to horizon
you will experience a part of
the original (and threatened) Florida
cattle range of the 1800s.
Noon- Dinner (lunch) stop. There will be
port-a-potties at the noon stop.
Lunches will be prepared and served
on-site unless we have bad weather
or some other unforeseen event.
1:30 PM- Ride out once again on this
re-enactment of Florida Cow Hunter/
Cracker Heritage and History of the 1850s.
4PM- Arrive at camp. Tend to your
horses. Cool them, water them. and
feed them. They will get all
the grain and hay you want to
give them. Follow the same guidelines
that work for you at home.
Set-up your camp before it
gets dark.
6PM- Supper
After supper we will always have
activities, all revolving around the central
theme of Preserving and Promoting Florida's
Cow Culture and Cow Hunter-Cracker
Heritage. A complete listings of the
evening activities will be available soon.
After supper and evening activities you
are on your own. There will be
no riding in camp after sundown.
Before turning in for the day,
walk your horse to one of the
water troughs one more time.
QUIET CAMP AFTER MIDNIGHT.
